Birdcage table lamp from Dunelm

\

Set the caged bird free...

So many pretty lights, so little time. One of my ultimate favourites is this cream birdcage table lamp from Dunelm. I've had it a while now, yet it still remains one of the main aspects in my room I admire the most. Looking on the internet, it doesn't look like they do this specific design anymore although there is one very similar; you can view it by clicking here. I am thankful that birdcages are still popular through the home decor world and especially in the wedding community. It means lots more beautiful things on the shelves to add to the home.

I think there is something so elegant and charming about a bird cage. My obsession with birdcages came from a poem that I read in sixth form called I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou. I love what they represent and the significance of them being opened to depict freedom from being caged. Aside from that, lets face it they are very pretty to look at!

The crystal detail glistens when the light is on, allowing them to reflect against one another stunningly.

The bordering at the bottom of the lamp just adds to the overall 'vintage inspired' look. The pretty daisy flowers accentuate the femininity and as my room is predominately florals it fits perfectly! I can't remember specifically how much this lamp was, as it was a Christmas present. But I do shop at Dunelm a lot and know from what I've bought they are good value for money.

What do you think of birdcage decor?

  2. Love it! It's so pretty! Although my only downer is I'm not too keen on cream but considering getting the only in the link you shared and spray paint it white maybe?! Definitely a very delicate and feminine thing to have and I think they look so pretty.

    1. Thank you Hannah! That's fine not everyone likes cream and not everyone likes white. It's all about personal preference. Oh you could try that, have to let me know how it goes? Thank you for your comment x
