VINTAGE DISNEY MEMORIES

The countdown to operation 21st Disneyland Paris has officially begun. The 2nd June could not come any sooner. Each day that passes is a day closer to quite possibly the most magical place on earth, am I right? Of course I'm right.

It's been years since I last went to DLP, it's been that long that I can't even remember. I think I was about sixteen and it was New Years Eve. The reason I don't know is because we lost ALL our photos from our past three trips to Disney, so I am not 100% sure what the year was.

Anyway, dreaming about my birthday trip got me thinking about the first time I ever stepped foot on Disney grounds. I was four years old and I don't remember much from that trip, but I do remember seeing the castle for the first time. Disney has always been in my life, it's been a sort of religion. All my room was Disney, the films I watched were Disney, the music I listened to was Disney, you get the point.

Luckily in 2001 we were still using dodgy digital cameras so we still have the photographs we took on my first trip in print. Looking back over them was so amazing yet surreal to think that this was 15 years ago.

I thought I would share some of the pictures I found with you all. So we can reminisce about vintage Disneyland Paris.WARNING: My smile is very errrrm... cheesy? But I wouldn't expect anything else from four year old me. Here are some of the little gems I found:

Me & Goofy (and some guy who clearly loves Goofy too)

The Disney parade - Belle

Disney Parade - Ariel

My idol since about 3 years old.

Begging for an autograph.

One of my favourite parts of the Paris park, the Alice in Wonderland world.

Munching on some Disney candy floss.

First time seeing Sleeping Beauty's castle, it was magical.

Vintage Disney Parade & Minnie Mouse herself.

Stained glass window inside Sleeping Beauty's castle.

Have you ever been to DLP? Or any Disney Parks? Do you have some vintage photographs to share? I would love to start a tag with this for you lot to tag me in to show me your snaps.

Anyone can do it!

  2. This is such a wonderful post and something different to anything I've seen/ read before. I hope the 2nd June comes quickly for you, it's my birthday on that day so hopefully it will come around quick for both of us! I hope you have another fantastic time in Disney Land and enjoy every second.

  3. These photos are so lovely! My childhood was filled with Disney bliss and I grew up collecting Disney books, stickers, and stories. Though I haven't been able to go to a Disney park.
Have fun when you go there!!!! It must be hard to wait, isn't it?
