The Instagram Interior Edit | denadanielle_designs

I love to be inspired to be creative and one of the best ways I find to get the creativity flowing is through Instagram. I am utterly obsessed with following accounts that focus around interiors and creativity, so when the two are combined it is like a dream come true. You can find so much interior inspiration through social media such as Pinterest and Instagram and I think they are really useful tools when it comes to reinventing your own home. Living at home doesn't stop me having ideas of how I would like to decorate, create and furniture I would like to rejuvinate. I wanted to show you some of the most enviable interiors I follow and reasons why they inspire me so much. My first focus is on the lovely Dena from Dena from denadanielle_designs who lives in Arkansas, US. Her interior is everything I am in love with - Shabby Chic, white, pastels, ruffles, rustic woods... To me? Pure heaven.

Living & Dining Area

White is such a versatile colour to use as it allows an interior to reveal itself through colour added later on; this is a theme continued throughout Dena's house. The touches of pink create a feminine atmosphere particularly with the roses and cushions trimmed with tassels. Decorative accents for Shabby Chic should be soft and opulent, a rustic trunk is used as a coffee table prompt which has a rustic tray positioning a vase of flowers. Positioning is also important when considering your interior as if done right it can bring the room together.

The Kitchen

The contrast between the rustic wired baskets and the chandelier emphasises what it means to make your home shabby chic. It's about the use of worn items such as the wired baskets, to create an overall stylish look which is accentuated by decorative accessories such as the chandelier and candelabra. Decorative plates are a good way to add colour and compliment each other when using a cohesive colour palette and similar sizes.

Unique finds

Charity shops really are diamonds in the rough. Although the world is more open to the world of thrifting now I still don't think many people appreciate how many gems you can find if you really look. Previously loved items that need adopting into your home are an important element when creating a shabby chic interior. So look around charity shops, markets and on the buy & sell pages online.

The Bedroom
Shabby chic interiors are characterised by an aged appearance. I love how this is done in Dena's home with the rustic wooden bed frame, adding to the warmth and charm of the room. This worn look is balanced with the light, airy colour scheme and comfortable fabrics such as lace, cotton and linen.

Letting your personality be represented through your interior decor can make your home the happiest place on earth for you. Dena's personality shines through certain elements such as the Shabby Chic dream catcher which highlights Dena's second love for boho decor whilst still remaining the Shabby Chic vibes. Also how chic is that mannequin?!

Decorative accessories
It's true what they say they little things do mean a lot and certain decorative accessories can change the dynamics of an entire room - if done correctly. Shabby chic exuberates the personality of the homeowner. It adds more character when you buy unique pieces from charity shops and antique stores. You can find a lot of hidden gems that you can easily upholster/cycle to suit your interior decor. When it comes to scent, a feminine and pretty interior needs the equivalent scent to infuse the home. Dena says she prefers sweet, mellow and floral scents such as roses. Of course I should imagine their is nothing better than a fresh bouquet of roses to scent out a room!

The future for Dena's home
So many interior styles and so little time means that it is to be expected to want to change your home. Although being really into Shabby Chic at the moment, Dena is in the middle of changing her interior up once again. The future for Dena's home will still have remnants of shabby chic, but with modern and bohemian elements.

What do you think of Dena's interior? Are you into Shabby Chic? Or do you have another interior preference? You can follow Dena's Instagram by clicking the link here: www.instagram.com/denadanielle_designs
