5 DUTY FREE ESSENTIALS YOU NEED

A visit to duty free has always been somewhat of a tradition in my family, it's the official starting point where you can escape reality and really treat yourself. Since I was little and buying miniature Barbie perfumes I have always enjoyed the experience of duty free as there's nothing more satisfying whilst on holiday than being able to purchase something a little more luxurious for yourself and gift sets that are exclusive to duty free.

Although my holiday was back in June and I had already indulged in some Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium and a miniature collection of Chloe, I was lucky enough to experience duty free again this time in the comfort of my very own home thanks to World Duty Free. I was very kindly invited to an event in Birmingham airport but sadly couldn't go so instead they sent me some amazing goodies. Imagine the heart eye emoji... Because that is exactly what my face was like when I came home and opened the parcel.

Inside was just about everything you should be looking for this Summer whilst in Duty Free and I decided to share them with you all today in what I think are the duty free essentials.

So what exactly are the duty free essentials?

NAILS | OPI Retro Summer Set £16.35

OPI is genuinely one of my favourite nail brands and I always find saying you're wearing an OPI nail varnish a bit fancier and a sure way to make people Ooh and Ahh. This is the Retro Summer collection which includes 6 different shades all representing how we might feel throughout the Summer: SPF XXX: A blend of red/orange, Towel Me About It: A bright yellow tone, Sailing  & Nailing: A light tone baby blue, Flip Flops & Crop Tops: An elegant pink, What's The Double Scoop: A dusky pink and my favourite of the collection: I'm Getting Tan-Gerine: A medium shade of orange with a creme finish.

SKINCARE | Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Hand Creams £23

Now this is certainly my cup of tea. It's not just Winter that dry skin attacks, if you're like me and suffer with dry skin throughout the year, you will know how important it is to always keep areas such as your hands moisturised to avoid cracked skin. The creams are infused with the perfect blend of green tea and botanical extracts; my favourite being the green tea and lavender. Travelling by plane is also known to dry out skin and these are the perfect travel size too.

PERFUME | Versace Miniatures Collection £35

Oh how I love miniature perfumes!  If you're not sure on what perfume to purchase then a miniatures set is probably the best decision as you can get a variety to try out. I also love using the miniatures bottles for decoration on my dressing table too. I have only ever used Versace Bright Crystal before, so I was curious how the others would match up. I did wear them all throughout the past couple of weeks and I think my favourite of the lot was the original and Crystal Noir.

BEAUTY | NARS #JETSETTER Cheek, Lips & Eyes £41.50

Perfect all year round this #JetSetter eye, cheek and lip palette is essential for any beauty lover. I have always wanted to try NARS products, especially the famous Orgasm blusher thanks to Kim K, and I feel this the ideal started kit for those like me who haven't had anything by NARS before and want to try out a collection of their products together. But I can imagine it being a NARS lovers dream as it combines some cult favourites into one easy compact.

This is such an ideal compact including everything you could possibly need to create the perfect Summer look. Sometimes applying a face full of makeup can be off putting in the heat and I feel this palette would allow you to create a natural, holiday glow both whilst on holiday and when back home.

& THE REST | Muddle & Mash Favourites Kit £15

I'm not a drinker of alcohol purely for the fact I am not really that keen on the taste. But amongst these treats was some cocktail mixers by Muddle & Mash. I'm not at all experienced in the cocktail mixing world and decided to make myself some virgin cocktails instead. With each bottle the mixer is filled to a certain point whereby you can add your spirit/soda of choice, then shake and mix.

If you're like me and not a big drinker of alcohol then substitutes such as tonic water, lemonade, lilt etc are all good substitutes! The entire set is £15 and comes with four mixers: strawberry & elderflower daiquiri, coco berry cosmopolitan, green tea mint mojito and passion fruit porn star martini.

The best thing about World Duty Free is that you can actually order online before you go to the airport just to ensure you get all the treats you want.
